- The number of functions. The most decisive factor. Every additional display is a separate consumer of energy.
- Battery quality. Branded silver oxide batteries provide both a longer life and a more stable voltage than cheap alkaline alternatives. A drop in voltage causes the watch to run slow.
- Temperature. Extreme cold temporarily reduces a battery's capacity; sustained heat shortens its life permanently.

How do you know the battery has run out?
